(a) whether the Government has formulated a National Policy on Official Statistics and placed it in the public domain;
(b) if so, the details thereof ;
(c) whether the Government has received any feedback/suggestions from the public on the said proposed policy and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether it is a fact that Government is now contemplating to redraft the said policy; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e): This Ministry formulated a Draft National Policy on Official Statistics based on the recommendations of the National Statistical Commission and the United Nations Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics. The draft was uploaded on the website of the Ministry and also circulated to the Ministries for comments and suggestions. The comments have been examined for inclusion in the revised draft, as per due process.
