Question : PPP MODEL



(a) the project-wise details of the amount invested under PPP Model in the schemes related to housing and urban poverty alleviation;

(b) whether the said model has failed in achieving its goal to bring improvement in the living standards of the poor; and

(c) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (c): Housing and colonization is a state subject. Under its existing scheme of Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), the Ministry provided assistance to State Government and ULBs to work in partnership with other stakeholders including private sector for creation of affordable housing stock.

A total of 22 projects with a total project cost of Rs. 1,482.96 crores and Central Share of Rs. 149.55 crores have been approved for construction of total 25,407 dwelling units (DUs) out of which 4,968 DUs have been completed and 2,532 DUs have been occupied under AHP.
