Question : SUPPLY OF GAS TO GAS RUN POWER PROJECTS



(a) whether some States have requested the Union Government to supply adequate gas for the gas-based power plants/projects established in the respective States;

(b) if so, the details of such requests received during the last three years and the current year;

(c) the criteria adopted for supply of gas; and

(d) the actual demand and gas supplied to each gas-based plant/project in the country during the said period, State/ UT-wise?

(a) to (c) : Yes, Madam.

Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala have requested Government to supply gas for the gas-based power plants/projects established in the respective states.

Proposals for allocation of gas for setting up of gas based power plants in Central, State and Private Sector totaling to about 1,30,000 MW have been received in CEA. The requirement of gas for the above projects was noted and all the applications received in CEA were prioritized as per the Criteria approved by MoP. A copy of the criteria for allocation of gas is placed at Annex-I.

(d) : The actual allocation and gas supplied to each gas based power plant/project in the country during last three years is placed at Annex-II/1, II/2, II/3 & II/4.
