Question : LAND ACQUISITION

(a) the current status of implementation of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013;

(b) whether the criteria prescribed in the said Act for assessing and determining the market value of the land has been criticised by certain State authorities and a section of the industry;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto; and

(d) the steps being taken by the Government for expeditious implementation of the Act?

(a)& (d) The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 has been passed by the Parliament and published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1; dated the 27th September, 2013 as Act No. 30 of 2013. The aforesaid Act has come into force with effect from 01.01.2014.
