Question : Battery Operating Stations

(a) whether the Government is allowing/proposes to allow the existing retail outlets of the Petroleum products (Petrol/Diesel Pump) to establish/install the Battery Operating Stations as a large number of batteries operated two, three and four wheeler vehicles have been launched in the market; and
(b) whether the Government has formulated any guidelines in this respect and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies have initiated battery swapping stations and charging stations at retail outlets on pilot basis. As on 01.01.2020, they have installed electric vehicle chargers at 48 retail outlets.
(b) The revised guidelines on “Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles” issued by Ministry of Power on 1.10.2019 are available in the website of Ministry of Power.
