(a) whether the banks have been providing loans to unemployed professionals
like doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, architects to set up their
establishment;
(b) if so, the State-wise details of such loan applications received by various
public sector banks during the last three years; and
(C) the State-wise amount of loan provided by each public sector banks to these
professionals during the above period ?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): The existing information system of RBI does not generate the data on
applications received.
(c): According to the information furnished by Reserve Bank of India, the details of State-wise loans outstanding in the books of Public Sector Banks to the professionals & self employed persons during the March ended 1998,1999 and
2000 are indicated in the Annexure.
