Question : Relining of Rajasthan Feeder

(a) whether approval for the relining of Rajasthan feeder (Punjab Region) has been accorded;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the quantum of funds sanctioned along with the time by which the work is to be executed by the Government of Punjab;

(c) whether the funds demanded by the Government of Punjab for the execution of said works have been released by the Union Government and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the work has been started by the State Government; and

(e) if not, the action taken by the Union Government in this regard?

(a) The investment clearance of revised cost estimate of Rajasthan Feeder (Punjab Part) has been given on 6th April, 2016.

(b) to (e) After deliberations in the meeting held on 06.10.2016 with Punjab and Rajasthan Government, it was considered desirable that decision on the works to be carried out and funding/investment in respect of above projects is taken after assessment of the condition of lining of Rajasthan feeder and submission of realistic revised assessment of work-plan by Government of Punjab. The funding of the scheme depends upon the finalization of revised work plan by Government of Punjab.
