Question : Law for Credit Cards

(a) whether ‘brown-label’ Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are installed in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the number of average daily transactions through ATMs have reduced recently;
(d) whether the Government proposes to allow the automatic route for ‘white-label’ ATM companies in banking sector with 100 per cent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI); and
(e) if so, the details and the objectives thereof?

(a) to (c):- Yes Sir. Reserve Bank of India has informed that average number of daily transactions through ATMs for Scheduled Commercial Banks are as under :-

(d) & (e) :- Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion through its notification dated 01.10.2015 has allowed the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) upto 100% in White Label ATM Operations under automatic route. Any non bank entity intending to set up White Label ATMs should have a minimum net worth of Rs.100 crore as per the latest financial year’s audited balance sheet which is to be maintained at all times.
