Question : VEESALPUR PROJECT



(a) whether the Government has completed the construction work of canals and distributaries under the Veesalpur Project Region;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any proposal to carry out construction and O.F.D. work of distributaries under the Centrally sponsored scheme has been received by the Union Government from the State Government, and

(d) if so, the time by which sanction is likely to be accorded by the Government?

(a) & (b) As reported by the State Government of Rajasthan, the works of right main canal and left main canal of Veesalpur Project have been completed. The balance works in distributaries and minors are in progress.

(c) & (d) Yes, Sir. A proposal was received from the State Government for inclusion of “Bisalpur Drinking Water cum Irrigation Project (Phase-I)” under the Centrally sponsored Command Area Development and Water Management (CADWM) Programme. In order to avoid thin spreading of resources under the CADWM, any project in a State can be included against the completion/withdrawal of any of the ongoing projects in that State.
