Question : Capacity of New and Renewable Energy Projects

(a) whether the Government has conducted any survey to augment the capacity of new and renewable energy projects in the country, State-wise including Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Assam;
(b) the total number of projects sanctioned by the Government in the country during the last five years and the current year along with the details of projects implemented in the said States, location-wise including district of Amravati in Maharashtra; and
(c) the quantum of funds spent by the Government to start/restart such projects along with the details of technical and financial assistance provided in this regard?

(a) The state-wise details of renewable energy potential estimated in the country including the States of Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Assam is given in Annexure-I.
(b) The State-wise and source-wise details of renewable energy capacity addition (including large hydro) in the country during the last five years & current year i.e. from 2016-17 to 2021-22 (Up to October’2021) are given in Annexure-II.
As per information provided by Maharashtra Renewable Energy Development Agency(MEDA), following renewable energy projects have been sanctioned in the Amravati District of Maharashtra:

• A total of 2744.05 KW grid connected solar rooftop capacity has been sanctioned.
• A total of 305 nos of solar agricultural pumps have been sanctioned under Atal Saur Krushi Pump Yojana-2.
• A total of 186.6 KW capacity of solar pumps have been sanctioned under Drinking Water Supply Scheme.

(c) Most of the grid connected renewable energy projects in the country are being implemented by private sector developers selected through transparent competitive bidding without Central Financial Assistance.
