Question : NON PAYMENT OF OLD AGE PENSION IN MADHYA PRADESH



(a) whether the old age pension has not been distributed in various districts of Madhya Pradesh, especially in Satna;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government have received any complaints in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken against the responsible officials for the same;

(e) whether the Government have issued any guidelines to the State Government for the timely and regular distribution of the old age pension;

(f) if so, the details thereof; and

(g) the action taken by the State Government thereon?

(a) & (b) As reported by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Old Age Pension is being distributed regularly in Madhya Pradesh except in the Municipal area of district Satna due to physical verification of the beneficiaries.

(c) No Sir.

(d) Question does not arise.

(e) & (f) As per the Guidelines issued by the Government of India to the State Governments, the benefit under National Old Age Pension Scheme should be disbursed, in not less than two instalments in a year and if possible, the benefit may be disbursed in more instalments as per the directions of the State Government.

(g) It has been reported by the State Government that instructions and Citizen Charter have been issued for the regular distribution of Old Age Pension. The scheme is being monitored by State Government as well as at other levels.
