(a) whether the majority of the airports operated by the
Airports Authority of India (AAI) incur heavy losses due to
under utilisation and poor management;
(b) if so, the steps Government is taking for improving the situation;
(c) the sources of AAI`s revenue by airports for last three
years including current year; and
(d) the profit/loss statement of last three years including
current year, airport-wise?

(a): No, Madam. However, some airports do cause losses. The
main reason of losses to Airports Authority of India (AAI)
is due to lower traffic and less aeronautical revenue
generation many of its airports.
(b): The steps are being taken to enhance non-aeronautical
revenue,reduce the operational cost and also initiating austerity measures.
(c): The details about the sources of AAI`s revenue are enclosed at Annexure 1.
(d): Airport wise details are given at Annexure 2.
