Question : Udyamita Scheme

(a) the time by which the Udyamita Scheme is likely to be launched;

(b) the salient features along with the curriculum/subjects likely to be made available under the scheme;

(c) the manner in which the performance of students at school/college level is likely to be evaluated for assessing entrepreneurial capabilities and certification process;

(d) whether the Government is considering giving any specific incentives to students taught under the scheme; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the initial estimated expenditure to be made available for the scheme?

Answer given by the minister

(a) The Udyamita Scheme already stands launched.

(b) (i) Entrepreneurship Education and Training: Delivered through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and will be facilitated by faculty with in-class discussions and experiential learning(applications, mock businesses, internships) (ii) Online Marketplace: Connect entrepreneurs to enabling networks of peers, mentors, incubators, funding agencies and business service providers on an online platform (iii) Creating Mentors: Creation of a national network of high quality- screened mentors by leveraging existing networks and successful local entrepreneurs, where possible (iv) Entrepreneurship Resource and Coordination Hubs (E-hubs): Establish a network of E-hubs to coordinate and support entrepreneurship development programs (v)Entrepreneurship Promotion: Create a culture of dynamic entrepreneurship through events, branding and marketing along with entrepreneurship research & advocacy (vi)Social Entrepreneurship: Elective courses on Social Entrepreneurship offered in Colleges and Social Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (SEDP) offered in Vocational Training Centers (VTCs). The curriculum/subjects likely to be made available under the scheme is at Annexure.

(c) The performance of the students will be assessed through online or/and written examination. Students will be given a certificate of participation at the end of the course by National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD).

(d) to (e) There is no such proposal under consideration.

Students, facilitators and mentors will be assessed and certified after they have undergone entrepreneurship education/ training, as per defined curriculum.
