(a) whether the Government has its Regional Publicity Offices in different states;

(b) if so, the number of such offices in the State of Maharashtra;

(c) whether any post(s) in such offices are lying vacant;

(d) if so, the reasons therefore; and

(e) the steps proposed to be taken by the Government to fill up these posts?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): The State of Maharashtra has one (01) Regional Office of Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) at Pune and one (01) Regional office of Press Information Bureau (PIB) at Mumbai.

( c ): Yes, Sir.

(d) & (e) : Vacancies are due to shortage of staff in IIS Cadre. The steps for filling these posts are underway in consultation with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)/Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
