(a) the district-wise number of villages having telephone
services in West Bengal;
(b) the district-wise number of villages where telephone
services are yet to be provided; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to provide telephone
services in such villages?

(a) & (b): District-wise number of villages with and
without telephone services in West Bengal are given in the
annexure.
(c) All revenue villages in the West Bengal Circle except 978
villages have already been provided with telecom facility.
Telecom facility in these villages could not be provided as
these villages are having population less than 100 and no
telephone facility is to be provided in such villages as per
policy of the Government/USO.
