(a) and (b)
Department of Legal Affairs(DoLA) vide Gazette Notification dated 08.02.2016 has implemented Legal Information Management & Briefing System (LIMBS), an IT enabled application for monitoring of court cases where Government of India is one of the party. It has been implemented in 72 Ministries/Departments of the Government where they can upload the details of cases which are pending in various courts and the status of these cases. Further the application has been revamped to a new robust secure platform equipped with dashboard view for quick analysis of cases at senior level so as to help in effective monitoring of court cases. As on 02.02.2021, Ministries/Departments have uploaded 6.32 lakh court cases in LIMBS application.
Parts (c) to (d)
Mediation is one of the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms available to the court under Section 80 of the Civil Procedure Code and has emerged as a popular and useful method for settlement of disputes. It involves negotiations also. The Legal Services Authorities have been actively involved to get the disputes settled through Mediation. The details of the number of existing mediation centres and cases settled through mediation centers are as under:-
