(a) whether any schemes are being run by the Government for providing training to women for skill development;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the amount of allocation made for the scheme, State-wise and scheme-wise; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?
(a) to (c) There are over 40 skill development schemes across various sectors being implemented by Central Ministries/ Departments. Most of these schemes have special provisions to promote the participation in skill development programmes by all socio-economic groups, including women. In addition, in all Government and Private ITIs, 30% of all the seats for the courses are reserved for women candidates. The data on allocation of funds under these schemes, State-wise and scheme-wise is not maintained centrally.
