Question : IMPLEMENTATION OF RESERVATION POLICY BY NGOS

(a) whether the Government has directed the Government aided Non- Governmental Organisations (N.G.Os.) to implement the provision of reservation in jobs for the S.C., S.Ts. Backward Class and Physically handicapped while making appointments in their respective organizations;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the names of the organizations along with the number of persons who have been provided jobs there in under the provision, NGO-wise; and

(d) the action taken/being taken against the N.G.Os violating the provisions of reservation?

(a) & (b) All the Schemes, under which grant-in-aid is released by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to Voluntary Organisations, (VOs) require that the voluntary organizations will follow the reservation policy for filling the posts under their control on the lines indicated by the Government of India. Recently, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has reiterated these instructions and the sanction letters for release of grant-in- aid also incorporate this condition.

(c) The details regarding persons employed against the reserved posts is maintained by the VOs at their level.

(d) No instances of violation of the provisions of reservation have come to notice and the NGOs are also being given sufficient time to implement the policy.
