Question : BAGDIGI COAL MINE



(a): the number of regular and contract workers who died in the accident that occurred in Bagdigi coal mine, separately;

(b): the number of persons provided jobs so far;

(c): the time by which this process is likely to be completed;

(d): whether the family members of the contract workers have also been included under the said arrangement;

(e): if not, the reasons therefor; and

(f) the action taken or proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR COAL (SHRI SYED SHAHNAWAZ HUSSAIN)


(a): 27 regular workers and 2 executives died in the said mine accident. No contractual worker was involved in the said accident.

(b): Jobs have been provided to 27 dependents. One dependent has been given monetary compensation in lieu of employment and one dependent of late P.R.Singh, Sr. ACM has applied recently.

(c): Employment to the dependents of all the workers who died in the accident has been provided.

(d): Since no contractual worker was involved in the said accident, question does not arise.

(e) & (f): Does not arise in view of reply to (d) above.
