(a) whether any proposal under Command Area Development Programme (CADP) is under the consideration of the Government for construction of field drains for draining out excess water from the fields in Tamil Nadu;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) it not, the reasons therefor ?

(a) Yes Sir,
(b) & (c) For the year 2001-2002 the State Government of
Tamil Nadu has proposed a target of 6450 ha. for the
construction of field drains for draining excess water from
the fields in Tamil Nadu in the Cauvery command and
Tambiraparani river basin project at a total cost of
Rs.64.50 lakh.
