Question : Tax on Petrol and Diesel

(a) whether the Government is imposing any new tax on the per litre production and cost of diesel and petrol due to which the rates of petrol and diesel are likely to be increased;

(b) the details of tax being imposed by the Government on petrol and diesel at present;

(c) whether the Government proposes to reduce the said tax so that the prices of petrol and diesel may decrease; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) No Sir. At present no new tax on petrol and diesel is being considered.
(b) The details of taxes imposed by the central government on petrol and diesel at present is as below:
