Question : INTRODUCTION OF TRAIN BETWEEN ALLAHABAD AND JAMMU

(a) whether the Government propose to introduce an express train between Allahabad, Haridwar, Saharanpur and Jammu;

(b) if so, specify the time frame;

(c) whether any representations have been received from the peoples representatives and the public to introduce an express train with a view to connect the four Hindu Holy Places namely Allahabad, Haridwar, Saharanpur and Jammu;

(d) if so, the action taken in this regard; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(c) to (e): Yes, Sir. Introduction of Express train between Allahabad-Jammu Tawi has been examined but not found feasible due to operational constraints such as terminal and path constraints.
