Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI U.V.KRISHNAM RAJU)

(a) to (c) The Ministry does not propose to launch any new programme for the unemployed rural youth. However, the Ministry is already implementing Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana(SGSY) as an integrated self employment programme under which rural youth from families living below the poverty line are covered for assistance to take up Self Employment Activities. Further, the Self Help Groups (SHGs) being organised under the scheme may be exclusively of women or men or mixed groups. Therefore, SHGs of rural youth could also be organised under the existing Self Employment Programme of the Ministry.
