Question : Construction of Taj Heritage Corridor

(a) whether the Government has reviewed the sanctioned/ongoing/pending projects under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the country;

(b) if so, the details of amount allocated and incurred for works carried out by ASI projects across the country including Bihar during the last three years and the current year;

(c) whether the ASI has issued notification for construction of Taj Heritage corridor on Yamuna Bank between Agra fort and Taj Mahal; and

(d) if so, the details and the outcome thereof?

(a) & (b) The conservation programme for protected monuments under Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is reviewed regularly to address the conservation requirements of each site. The details of funds allocated and utilized for conservation of protected monuments in the country including Bihar for last three years and allocation for the current year are as under.

(c) & (d) No such notification for construction of Taj Heritage corridor has been issued. However preliminary notification for protection of this area has been issued by the ASI.
