(a) and (b) Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) has already been developed by National Dairy Development Board and is being used as National Data Base for uploading data of animals identified using poly urethane tags with 12 digit Animal Unique Identification Number (AUID) and it is as per the International Committee on Animal Recording (ICAR).
(c) to (e) Government of India is undertaking identification of in-milk cattle and buffaloes, using 12 digit unique identification number (Pashu Aadhar) for the purpose of scientific breeding of animals, control of spread of diseases, increasing trade of milk & milk products. This is being implemented under the “Pashu Sanjivni” component of the scheme National Mission on Bovine Productivity now subsumed under Rashtriya Gokul Mission. The approved cost norm for each health card is Rs 4 per card. However, the traceability under Pashu-Aadhar is now being extended to all bovine animals as well as sheep, goat and pigs numbering total 53.5 crore under National Animal Disease Control Programe.
(f) The status of the animals registered, State-wise as per Information Network for Animal Health and Productivity (INAPH) data base is given at Annexure-I.
(g) The traceability animals using 12 digit unique identification number (Pashu Aadhar) is now being extended to all bovine animals as well as sheep, goat and pigs numbering total 53.5 crore under National Animal Disease Control Programe initiated in September 2019.
