Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the funds allocated and utilised for various schemes under the Ministry during the financial year 2017-18;
(b) whether allocated funds are reviewed from time to time depending on the requirement;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?
(a): The details of funds allocated and utilised for various schemes under the Ministry during the financial year 2017-18 are given in the Allocation and Utilization Statement 2017-18 at Annexure.
(b) and (c): The funds allocated under various schemes and expenditure made under the schemes are reviewed on weekly basis at the level of Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser and Secretary. Ministry submits proposals for Cash Supplementary Demands for Grants as and when Ministry of Finance calls for the same to ensure that no project is delayed or remained unimplemented due to paucity of funds, etc. Token/Technical Supplementary Grants are also sought to transfer funds from one scheme to another keeping in view the priority of implementation of projects. Besides, the allocations and expenditure are also reviewed in the Pre-Budget meeting under the Chairmanship of Secretary(Expenditure), for finalization of Revised Estimates (RE) ceilings.
(d): Does not arise in view of the reply made to parts (b) and (c) above.
