Question : ROB at Avaneeswaram

(a) whether the Government is considering to commence the construction of ROB at Avaneeswaram (LC No. 519) under Madurai division in Kerala;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government in this regard;

(c) whether the Railways has received a priority list of ROBs/RUBs from the State Government of Kerala for construction on cost sharing basis; and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the present status and priority during this year in Madurai division?

(a) & (b): No, Sir. This level crossing (LC) does not qualify for its replacement by Road Over Bridge (ROB) on cost sharing basis as traffic density at this LC is less than one lakh Train Vehicle Unit (TVU).

(c): No, Sir.
