(a) the total employment generated in the Central, State and Local Bodies, Central and State Public
Sector Undertakings and in the organised private sector in the country during each of the last three
years and current year so far;
(b) the criteria adopted for declaring private sector as Organised Private Sector; and
(c) the number of units registered as Organised Private Sector, State-wise?

(a) As per the Employment Market Information Programme of Directorate General of Employment and
Training, employment in the Central Government, State Government, Local bodies, Quasi
Government (Central), Quasi Government (State) and organised private sector in the
country as on 31st March, 1999,2000, 2001 and 2002 (latest available) is given in
the Annexure-I.
(b) Organised private sector includes all non-agricultural establishments in the
private sector employing 10 or more persons.
c) State-wise details of the number of establishments in the organised private
sector are given in the Annexure-II.
