Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT (SHRIMATI KRISHNA TIRATH)

(a) & (b) : The Ministry does not have any separate Monitoring Committee. Several schemes of the Ministry have inbuilt system for the purpose of monitoring and proper implementation of the schemes for welfare of women and children. It is mandatory under them for the programme implementing agencies to furnish project progress reports and audited accounts of the funds released etc. For other schemes, the Ministry convenes review meetings with the State functionaries to appraise the performance of the ongoing programmes and undertakes evaluation through independent agencies.
