College, Anantpur; Unmarried; Social and Public Worker; associated with Indian National Congress, 1937-41; suffered 4 months imprisonment in individual Satyagraha movement; associated with Communist Party of India since 1942; went underground in April, 1948 for 3 1/2 years; suffered three weeks imprisonment in 1964 during Kisan Satyagraha against enhancement of land revenue; was arrested in 1970 in connection with occupation of forest banjar land; Member, (i) First Lok Sabha, 1952-57, (ii) Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, 1958-62, (iii) Third Lok Sabha, 1962-67 and (iv) Fourth Lok Sabha, 1967-70.
