(Manipur-Inner Manipur—1967): s. of Shri Moirangthem Modhumangol Singh; b. at Imphal, August 24, 1924; ed. at Churachand High School, Imphal, Cotton College, Gauhati, Presidency College, Calcutta and Delhi University; m. Shrimati Promodini Devi; Teacher and Advocate; Member, (1) Manipur Government Committee on employment; (2) Evaluation and Implementation Committee on Labour; Member of the Editorial Board of the multilingual daily "Khollao" Imphal; imprisoned under the Preventive Detention Act in 1950 and under the Defence of India Rules in 1962 and 1965. Social activities: One of the founders of the Imphal College; organised a number of trade unions in Manipur. Hobbies: Reading newspapers and journals.
