The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for revision of pay scales of the Judicial Officers of the Union Territories as recommended by the First National Judicial Commission (FNJC). The revision of pay scales of the Judicial Officers will be implemented w.e.f. July 1, 1996 by way of an executive order by the Competent Authority.
The arrears of salary and allowances with effect from July 1, 1996 to March 31, 2004 would be credited to the Provident Fund Accounts of the Judicial Officers. There will be an annual recurring expenditure of approximately Rs.45.7 lakh and a one time non-recurring expenditure of approximately Rs.3.4 crore by way of payments of arrears of pay and DA.
