Ministry of Rural Development has released 163 tonnes of common wheat and 1286 tonnes of common rice as second installment of foodgrains to the 7 districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) (1st Stream) during 2003-2004. These districts are Badam, Kathua, Kupwara, Pulwama, Anantnag, Poonch and Srinagar.
The transportation cost for lifting the foodgrains will be borne by the State Government. The payment of foodgrains will be made by the Ministry of Rural Development directly to FCI on lifting of foodgrains.
