(a) whether the Government has received the Kamal Kumar Committee`s report on reforms in police;

(b) if so, the date on which the Government received the said report;

(c) whether any deficiency has been identified for Police reforms in the said report; and

(d) if not, the main matters on which recommendations have been made in the said report?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI SRIPRAKASH JAISWAL)

(a) to (d): A Committee had been constituted by Ministry of Home Affairs to review the recommendations of the previous Commissions and Committees set up on Police Reform and to shortlist the recommendations which have not been implemented or partially implemented and to recommend the present course of action. The Committee has submitted its report to the Ministry of Home Affairs on 23rd March, 2005. The recommendations of this Review Committee are under consideration of the Government.
