Question : CINE WORKERS

(a) the number of families paid compensation under the Group Insurance Scheme for Cine Workers in case of death due to natural cause or due to accident, during the last three years;

(b) the number of such cases of claims pending, till date and time by which these cases are pending;

(c) the efforts made by the Government for expeditious payment;

(d) the total corpus funds available in the Cine Workers Welfare Fund and the income and expenditure thereof during the last three years;

(e) whether medical benefit is likely to be extended to Cine Workers under this scheme;

(f) if so, the details thereof; and
(g) if not, the reasons therefor?

MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI MUNI LALL)

(a) : Fifty families have been paid compensation under Group Insurance Scheme for Cine Woekrs in case of death due to natural cause or due to accident durint the last three years.

(b) : As on date, 21 cases of claims are pending with LIC and period of pendency ranges from one month to 5 months.

(c) : LIC has been requested to settle the cases expeditiously.

(d) : A Statement is annexted at Annexure - I.

(e), (f) & (g) : A list of Schemes for Medical Benefits provided to the Cine Workers is given at Annexure-II.
