Question : LAND ALLOCATION TO FLYING CLUBS



(a) the details and the purpose of allotting land/hanger by Airports Authority of India (AAI) to various flying clubs for Re 1/- per annum;

(b) the details of revenue collected by each of the flying clubs during the last three years by means other than pilot training;

(c) whether the flying clubs are not paying the landing and RNFC charges;

(d) if so, the reasons therefor;

(e) whether the AAI is not allotting land/hanger on lease at Re 1/- per annum to new upcoming flying clubs; and

(f) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a): Airports Authority of India (AAI), after its formation, has not allotted any land to flying clubs @ Re 1/- for construction of hangar.

(b), (c) & (d): Information is being collected and will be laid on the Table of the House.

(e) AAI allots land to private flying clubs at market rate of licence fee for construction of hangar.

(f): As per Airports Authority of India Act, 1994, AAI has to work on commercial principles.
