Question : LABOUR INTENSIVE TECHNOLOGIES

(a) whether labour intensive technologies are better suited in the agricultural sector in the country as compared to mechanisation;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of Government thereto;

(c) whether labour intensive techniques are widely preferred by farmers over mechanisation in different parts of the country for cultivating and harvesting various crops including wheat;

(d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(e) whether the Government provides Central assistance for promoting labour intensive techniques/technologies in the country; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(e): There is no specific scheme to provide any Central Assistance for promoting labour intensive techniques/technologies in the country.
