Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to set up any medical university in Jharkhand;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) the number of medical universities functioning in the country at present, State/ UT-wise; and
(d) the details of the criteria laid down for setting up medical universities in the country?

(a) & (b): No. Medical Universities are set up in the States by the respective State Governments/private entities.
(c): A statement showing the State/UT-wise details are given in the Annexure.
(d): State Governments/private entities establish the Universities following the provisions of the relevant legislation passed by the respective State Legislature.
