Question : Making Sanskrit Education Employment Oriented

(a) whether it is a fact that the Government is working on an extensive policy to protect all Indian languages including Sanskrit and whether the progress in this regard is as per expectations;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has taken various policy measures in order to make Sanskrit education employment-oriented and whether positive results of these policy measures are visible;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the extent to which these policy measures are successful?

(a) & (b): Yes Sir. The National Education Policy 2020 has made several recommendations that focus on the study and promotion of Indian Languages including Sanskrit. Three Deemed to be Universities in Sanskrit have been converted into Central Universities in 2020.
(c) to (e): As far as making Sanskrit education employment oriented, it is stated that Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.) and Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed) courses are being run in the Central Sanskrit Universities. The number of seats in these courses was increased by more than 100%. Further, Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) had launched a National Career Service (NCS) scheme under which 100 Model Career Centres (MCC) are to be set up for creation of job opportunities. One such Centre is being established by the National Sanskrit University, Tirupati.
