(a) whether IIT, Delhi, Mumbai and others have made a provision for awarding the dual degree of M. Tech or M.B.A along with B. Tech in 5 years period in place of 6 years as in the past; (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) whether the Government will direct IIT Council to commence such dual degree courses in all of its 25 IIT institutes on the line of IIT, Delhi, etc.; and (d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and some other IITs are offering 5 years Dual Degree programmes. These programmes provide dual degree of M.Tech/ M.B.A/ M Des/MS/M.Sc along with B.Tech/BS.
(c) & (d): All the 23 IITs are autonomous Institutions governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 as amended from time to time. IITs function as per the provisions of the said Act, and the Statutes framed thereunder. The academic matters including dual degree courses are decided by the Board of Governors of the respective IITs.
