(a)Yes, Sir. The Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology is implementing the National Mission for Sustaining the Himalayan Eco-system (NMSHE).
(b)The National Mission for Sustaining the Himalayan Eco-system (NMSHE) is one of the eight missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) of the Government of India with the objective of enhancing the understanding of climate change, its likely impacts and adaptation action required for the Himalayan Region to facilitate formulation of appropriate policy measures and time-bound action programmes to sustain ecological resilience and to ensure the continued provisions of key ecosystem services in the Himalayas.
(c)A total of Rs. 550 crores has been approved for NMSHE for the 12th Five Year Plan of which a total amount of Rs. 12.56 crores has been utilised.
