Question : PAYMENT OF ARREARS TO EMPLOYEES



(a) whether a large number of employees of the Indian Airlines retired on February 29, 2000 as a result of reduction in retirement age from 60 to 58 years;

(b) if so, whether the suggestions given by the Committee constituted by the Board of Directors of the Indian Airlines in this regard has been implemented;

(c) if so, whether payment of arrears and pension to retired employees have been made; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): No such Committee was constituted by the Board of Directors of Indian Airlines Limited.

(c): Arrears have been paid to employees who have retired on 29.02.2000. Annuity is being paid to all such retired employees who had opted for annuity payments.

(d): does not arise.
