Question : IMAGES TO FOREIGN AGENCIES



(a) whether the Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with foreign agencies for not giving images to wrong hand while selling satellilte images;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the compliance of the said MoU by foreign agencies is being done;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the action taken/proposed to be taken against foreign agencies not complying with the MoU?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS ASSUMED THE CHARGE OF THE OFFICE OF THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL,PUBLIC GRIEVANCES & PENSIONS (SHRI V. NARAYANASAMY):

(a) & (b) Antrix have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for providing the images / data to foreign agencies followed by an End User License Agreement wherein the foreign agency gives a declaration that the images / data are not distributed for unauthorized use.

(c), (d) Yes, Sir. The compliance of the Memorandum of & (e) Understanding is done as a part of contract management / implementation and if any non-compliance is observed, the contract is not-renewed/terminated.
