Construction work of the two bridges, one on River Ganga at Ghattugad and another linking Srinagar to Chauras has not started. Construction of these bridges sanctioned under Central Road Fund and Additional Central Assistance respectively is the responsibility of the Government of Uttaranchal. For both the bridges, tenders were invited by the State Government on two earlier occasions but the bidders failed to qualify technically. The bids have now been invited for the third time and are due to be received on 10th March, 2006.
