Question : Staff in Kendriya Vidyalaya Libraries

(a) whether the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has made provision for
deployment of sub-staff in its school libraries;
(b) if so, the details of KVs of Delhi Region where sub-staff is deployed;
(c) whether in-spite of instructions issued by the KVS, it is not being followed by
Principals of some Kendriya Vidyalayas and if so, the details thereof including
Delhi region along with the reasons therefor and action taken thereon;
(d) whether the Librarians have been assigned class teachership without deployment
of sub-staff and if so, the details thereof in Delhi region; and
(e) the steps being taken by the Government to ensure deployment of sub-staff for
efficient functioning of school libraries?

(a) Instructions have been issued by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to all its
Regional Offices to advise the Principals under their administrative control to deploy one
sub-staff available in the school to assist the Librarian.
(b) The details of the KVs in Delhi Region where sub-staff have been deployed are
as under:-

(c) Consequent upon a few cases of non-compliance of the above instructions by
Principals of some KVs, these instructions have been reiterated by KVS.

(e) The instructions issued in this regard have again been reiterated on 25.11.2019
for ensuring strict compliance.
