(a) Whether Government of India is aware of a proposal to set up an International Leather Complex in A.P. having been approved in principle;
(b) If so, the details thereof;
(c) Whether preparatory steps have been completed in this regard, like allotment of land and development of infrastructure;
(d) If so, the details thereof; and
(e) by when the said complex is likely to be functional ?

(a) &(b): Yes, Sir. Government of India have conveyed to Government of Andhra Pradesh `in principle` approval to support the establishment of a Leather Complex in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh, and have advised the State Government to prepare a Detailed Project Report.
(c), (d) & (e): Preparatory steps such as allotment of land and preparation of Detailed Project Report, which is also expected to cover targeted completion date, are at various stages with the State Government.
