THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES, MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS, MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF ATOMIC ENERGY AND SPACE (SHRIMATI VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a) & (b) No, Sir.

(c) & (d) In the past, site investigations had been carried out by the Site Selection Committee (SSC) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in Kerala for assessing suitability of sites for setting up of nuclear power plants. A number of sites were investigated. No suitable/potential sites could be established. Setting up of a nuclear power plant in any region will, however, depend upon various factors, including the energy alternatives available to a region, availability of funds to set up the plant, techno-economic considerations and availability of suitable sites.
