(a)& (b): The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change does not implement any special scheme to promote plantation in the private sector. However, tree plantation/afforestation in the country is taken up under various schemes of different Ministries of Government of India and State Plan/Non-plan schemes, and by NGOs, Civil Societies, Corporate bodies, etc.
As per information received from Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, a Sub-Mission on Agroforestry under National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture is being implemented since 2016-17 to promote plantation on farmlands. The scheme is being implemented in 20 States and UTs. A restructured National Bamboo Mission (NBM) has also been launched in 2018-19 by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The objective of the National Bamboo Mission includes increasing the area under bamboo plantation on non-forest government land and private lands to supplement farm income as well as availability of quality raw material for industries.
(c) & (d): Madhya Pradesh is one of the identified States for implementation of the NBM. Allocation and release of funds to Madhya Pradesh under the NBM is given below:
