Question : Extradition of Zakir Naik

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is planning to extradite controversial “Peace TV orator Zakir Naik” from Saudi Arabia to ensure peace and harmony in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the details of the steps taken/being taken in this regard?

(a) to (d) The Ministry of External Affairs has not received any extradition request in respect of Mr. Zakir Naik from the concerned law enforcement agency. The Ministry will take appropriate action once an extradition request is received.
