Question : DECREASE IN NUMBER OF SUBORDINATE STAFF



(a) The details of extent guidelines and rules on the matter of filling up vacancies in Government Department;

(b) whether the number of subordinate staff is decreasing vis-a vis group `A` and `B` employees; and

(c) If so, the details thereof for the last three years and the current year and the reaction of the Government thereof?

(a) As per extant guidelines/rules it is for the concerned Government Departments to take action regarding filling up vacancies arising within their departments. If a post is held in abeyance or remains unfilled for one year or more, it is deemed as abolished. Such vacancies are revived with the approval of the competent authority.

(b) & (c): As per the latest information available, the estimated number of Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D regular Central Government Civilian employees (including UTs} during the last three years is as follows;
